SOIL is comprised of a multitude of subject matter experts, idea generators, and solution developers that make up a robust ecosystem of open innovation. The SOIL Innovation Working Group (IWG) represents a subset of this diverse and dynamic community. We leverage crowdsourcing techniques as well as an algorithm-based solution evaluation methodology to assist in the development of true solutions to real problems. Dr. Sidney Kahn

Dr. Sidney Kahn’s professional credentials include MB, ChB (Cape Town), Ph.D. (London), Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists, and Membership of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians (UK). His academic career spanned 17 years in clinical laboratory medicine and basic research in neuroimmunology in the UK and USA. He spent the next 13 years at Bristol-Myers Squibb and Johnson & Johnson managing professional groups responsible for safety assessment of medicinal products throughout their lifecycle. Throughout his corporate career, he was actively involved in US and global scientific and regulatory activities to enhance pharmacovigilance, risk assessment, and risk management, including PhRMA representation to ICH on several MedDRA EWGs and the Post-Marketing EWG, the U.S. National Coordinating Council for Medication Error Reporting and Prevention, and the initial PhRMA/FDA Electronic Regulatory Submissions Task Force. He was a member of the CIOMS-VI WG and the HL7 SPL Implementation Workgroup, and a co-principal of Quadrant e-Labeling, a provider of Structured Product Labeling solutions. Dr. Kahn has presented at multiple conferences and workshops in the USA, Europe, and Asia on all aspects of pre- and post-approval pharmacovigilance, risk management, and labeling.

Wanda Durden

Wanda is a seasoned Senior Manager with over 20 years of experience in government and private sector management. As a Project Manager for Offspring Solutions, she provides senior management operational support and recommendations in the areas of Organizational Change Management, Portfolio, Program and Project Management, Business Process Transformation, and IT Strategic Planning. She has also held two mayoral appointments serving in both, the District of Columbia and Baltimore, MD. She has managed operating budgets of $59M, Capital Improvements budgets of $20M, and diverse staffs exceeding 600 FTEs. She also has extensive experience implementing local and global management processes and performance outcomes for large organizations. Wanda has extensive international experience with Special Olympics as she trained and provided mentorship on program and event management, while successfully increasing athlete growth by 75% for the program. Wanda currently holds the following credentials – Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Software Lifecycle Management (SLIM) and Sig Sigma Yellow Belt (SSY).

Heath Rushing

Heath Rushing

Heath Rushing is the cofounder of Adsurgo LLC. Previously, he was the JMP and Six Sigma training manager at SAS. He led a team of nine technical professionals designing and delivering applied statistics and quality continuing education courses.   Mr. Rushing has been an invited speaker on applicability of statistics for national and international conferences.  As a Quality Engineer at Amgen, he championed statistical principles in every business unit. He designed and delivered a DOE course that immediately became the company standard required at multiple sites. He won the top teaching award out of 54 instructors in the Air Force Academy math department where he taught several semesters and sections of OR and statistics. Additionally, he taught Operations Research and simulation modeling at the Colorado School of Mines and designs and delivers short courses in statistics, data mining, and simulation modeling for SAS.

Jim Wisnowski

Jim Wisnowski

Jim Wisnowski is the cofounder of Adsurgo LLC. He has over 22 years of experience using the SAS suit of tools, specializing in exploratory data mining, predictive analytics, and design of experiments. Jim has a PhD in Industrial Engineering from Arizona State University. He is a SAS® Government partner where he is tasked to develop training material using government applications and provide on-site demonstrations and tutorials. Prior to his current position, he was a senior program manager for URS, Chief of the Statistics Division in the Mathematics Department at the Air Force Academy, and a retired military officer. He is currently a member of the editorial board of Quality Engineering and has published numerous international refereed journal articles on statistics.

Paige Lillard is CEO and Principal of Beacon Consulting PBL. A seasoned business transformation leader and organizational excellence expert, she served as the VP of Global Business Transformation for Turner Broadcasting’s Global Technology and Operations division. Based on growing demand for her knowledge and time, she created an internal professional service firm at Turner, leading a team of consultants to guide and support executives from businesses throughout the world, including CNN, Turner Sports, Turner Entertainment and Turner Corporate, through the strategy development process. Each planning session aligned strategy to technology, culture, work systems and leadership capabilities to accelerate implementation and achieve business goals.

Paige was appointed by the US Secretary of Commerce in 2012 for a three-year term as one of twelve Baldrige Award for Performance Excellence Judges and in 2014 was appointed Lead Judge by Secretary of Commerce Pritzker. Through over 18 years of work with the Baldrige Framework for Excellence coupled with her global transformation projects with Turner, Ms. Lillard has extensive knowledge of organizational design and systems to ensure sustainable success. Her experience spans all sectors including service, industry, healthcare, education, government and not-for-profit. Paige also teaches the Baldrige Framework at the University level to executive MBA students.
